Mila Turajlić

director / producer

Mila Turajlić graduated politics and international relations at the London School of Economic, and film and television production at the Faculty of Drama Arts, Belgrade. During her studies she was engaged in an NGO for development of public dialogue and parliamentary debate, and taught political communication at universities in Germany and America. She got her master’s degree in Media and Communication at the LSE and worked in London on documentaries for Discovery Channel. She worked as assistant director and organizer in feature films (Mel Gibson’s Apocalypto, where she was make-up office coordinator, which is a department nominated for the Academy Award), Oliver Parker’s Fade to Black, The Brothers Bloom, etc.).
As a scholarship student of the French government she specialized in documentary filmmaking at the national film school La Femis in Paris, and  had internship with a two-time Oscar winner, Tony Schwartz in New York. In 2006 she founded a production house Dribbling Pictures with her colleague Boris Mitić. She is a director and screenwriter of “Cinema Comunisto“
